DIY Pita Pizza
Looking for a simple weeknight dinner recipe that comes together in 15 minutes? Bonus - want something the kids can make by themselves? These pita pizzas are just the thing.
I always keep pita in the fridge or freezer in case we are in a pinch and need to get something on the table fast. They are so simple to assemble and I like to make the whole pack to have for leftovers for lunch the next day. My son loves taking leftover pita pizza for lunch the next day and likes eating his cold!
DIY Pita Pizzas
Serves 6
Ingredients:
6 Pitas (I buy whole grain ones for added fiber and protein or you can try this one if you are gluten free)
1 Can of your favorite tomato sauce
1 1/2 Cups shredded mozzarella
Favorite pizza toppings
Instruction:
Preheat your oven to 400F. Line two rimmed sheet pans with parchment paper.
Let kids spread tomato sauce, sprinkle cheese, and add their favorite toppings to their pita pizza.
Add pita pizzas to the baking sheet and bake 7-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
